Celebration, Prayer and Invitation
By Mary Jean Powers

Hey Friends 😊
I hope you have begun this new year with a strong sense of God’s mercy and presence. The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. His mercies never come to an end — they are new every morning, new every morning. Great is His faithfulness! The Lord is my inheritance. Therefore, I will hope in Him. (Lamentations 3:22–24)
FYI, the confidential nature of my work doesn’t often lend itself to taking photos. As you know, I usually include nature photos from the area around my home. Since I am fascinated and delighted by doors, this month I’ve opted to share some of my favorites from around the world. Enjoy!
Celebrate!
Twenty years ago this month, Get the Word Out hosted our first Bible study intensive! Thousands of students later, we’re still going strong with God’s original intention: to teach His Word and to come alongside ministry leaders. Our ministry expressions don’t look like they did twenty years ago, but the call hasn’t changed. What an honor to be recipients of God’s sustaining grace, provision, and care. He really is as good and great as He claims to be!
January
In addition to all the year-end stuff that non-profits are required to do, this month has been full with many diverse opportunities. I like the variety and enjoy the newness of each day. About 15 of us got together to look back at 2025 with Jesus. It’s amazing how God shows up with insight and wisdom when we give Him our attention and time! I also had several lengthy conversations with young adults who sincerely love Jesus and want to learn to live with integrity. And that’s another thing that hasn’t changed all these years — my enjoyment of and love for young adults. They’re just so fun and teachable! Connections with missionaries, worship leaders, pastors, intercessors, ministry leaders — it’s such a rich life and I get to learn from, laugh with, cry with, pray with all these God-honoring, Kingdom-living people. Yep, a good start to a new year!
February and Prayer
Next month is FULL … the good kind of full. Three debriefs plus a week of teaching Walk Thru the Bible at a YWAM base in South Dallas! This month, I’d really appreciate prayer for:
- self-discipline in exercise, diet and sleep.
- sharp mental focus as debriefs and Walk Thru require complete concentration on both the Spirit and the people.
- peace of heart and mind as I set aside daily projects to create space for intense ministry times.
You’re Invited! — March 7 Worship Seminar
“Worship” is a word that most people use to describe singing at church. But biblically, musical worship only encompasses a fraction of worship expressions from God’s point of view. During this seminar, we will take time to talk about and practice Jesus’ definition of worship (Mark 12) and the power of God’s Word in worship. We’ll ask the questions, “How do You want to be loved? What would put a smile on Your face, Lord?” We’ll also do deeper exploration into some biblical concepts of worship such as offering ourselves as living sacrifices (Romans 12), worship as a spiritual discipline, and how righteousness, worship, and the fear of the Lord are all connected. This seminar is for anyone — everyone! — who worships Jesus so please join us as we discover from His Word how God has created us to love Him.
Date: Saturday, March 7, 2026 · Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM · Venue: New Hope Christian Church, 8992 Washington St, Thornton, CO 80229 · Registration Fee: $20/person — an offering will be taken at the conclusion of the seminar.
Friend-raising and Finance
Thanks to those of you who have been praying for an increase in giving to GWO. We’re about halfway to our goal! If you would like to make a one-time or monthly investment into this ministry, please know that we will steward your gifts with integrity and honor. If you prefer to give toward something specific, consider providing a scholarship for a ministry leader who needs a debrief. The rewards are eternal!
In fact, would you please pause now and make a prayer investment into the ministry leaders you know? Pray this prayer with me: Jesus, You were human in all things except sin, so You understand our human fears, frailties, and the weariness of these leaders. Reassure and comfort them now; illuminate and challenge them. Give them hope and wisdom and grace so that they may lead Your family closer to You. Send people to them to disciple — young people whom You have chosen to follow in their footsteps and lead Your people. And help them to realize how important they are to the rest of us. Amen.
Thanks, friends. Until next time …
May God bless you — The Father of power and strength, The Son of wisdom and knowledge, And the Spirit of loving care.
