Perhaps the worship discussion is not so much about how to worship as it is Whom we are worshiping. In other words, when we worship the Lord, we should approach Him in ways that are pleasing and honorable and acceptable to Him. Perhaps the question is: “Lord, how do You want to be loved right now?”
Unfortunately, though we may be familiar with modern or trendy expressions of worship, most of us cannot describe what the Bible says about acceptable ways to love and honor to the Lord. This Get the Word Out! Intensive helps participants discover worship with a Scriptural understanding the foundations of what we know about sacrifices of worship, we have learned from His Word.
The Intensive covers worship from various perspectives: Old Testament offerings and sacrifices, New Testament fulfillment of Old Testament worship, what it is to live a life of worship, & how to align our current ideas of worship with Scripture. In addition, we practice Biblical meditation and worship together, write psalms, incorporate Scripture into our times of worship, look at the Hebrew and Greek definitions of Biblical worship terms, and humble our hearts before our God.
The Intensive Designed for Worship Teams:
All Christians can benefit from having a more Biblical understanding of worship, but this Intensive is also great training for worship teams.
Available in 12, 24, and 48-hour formats, the GWO! Worship Intensive will provide your team with a comprehensive understanding of how God views worship & the role of the team, according to Scripture. The 24 & 48-hour Intensives allow time for worship teams to bring their instruments and voices, and actually rehearse Biblical meditation, playing the Psalms, singing the Scriptures, etc. together as a team.
Also included in the intensive are times of prayer, musical worship, Word immersion, practicalities of worship rehearsals, responsive and corporate scripture readings & communion. These are powerful times of developing unity within worship teams, and of providing a springboard for the teams to move forward in their spiritual service of worship to the Lord.
Worship Intensive Outline:
Theme Scripture: Colossians 3:16,17 NIV
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, & as you sing psalms, hymns & spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
